Or How to Shop for Crystals & Stones
When I shop for crystals or stones, I am typically looking for only one thing: how does it make me feel?
I cannot emphasize the importance of this enough. I am always telling my clients, look away from the labels and the resource books, ask yourself, how do you feel when you hold this stone? That is the key to what it has to offer you. And frankly, that's all that matters. What it does for someone else means very little when your choosing it to work with you.
For me, finding a good crystal or stone to work with in that time comes across as an experience of being totally taken out of myself. I can walk into a rock shop with the weight of the world on my shoulders, a thousand worries pressing me into the ground. But I can look at a tumble of picture jasper in my palm and suddeny I am transported. I feel free, or happy, or mesmerized. But the key is more in what I don't feel. I don't feel worried or anxious or like my usual "monkey mind" self. It is quite similar to the experience most people have around art. And it is natural and powerful.
When Hibiscus Moon talks about entrainment, or I teach about it in my classes, this is the experience of entrainment in effect. The powerful pull of that stone's vibration has overridden your own, has stopped your mind's hampster wheel of worries dead in its tracks. That is priceless. Those are the stones that are "speaking to you". Those are the stones to buy or work with.
